The Civic Spirit Summer Institute

July 29th - August 1, 2019

An intensive, week-long civic education training program for faculty from faith-based schools to learn together.

The Institute provides the opportunity to delve into America’s founding documents and discuss pedagogical tools for using primary sources, philosophical texts, and literature as a way of invoking civic connection and democratic fluency in the classroom.

Civic Spirit Educators participate in workshops on key civic skills, including media literacy, civil discourse, op-ed writing, and action civics.

The Institute, a partnership between the Jack Miller Center and Civic Spirit,  brings together Civic Spirit participating schools, administrators, and teachers for an immersive dive into educating for civic character and civic responsibility.
